Dr Arlene Mazaza

I have spent most of my career in a tertiary academic hospital, and this has afforded me the opportunity to be actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education at Stellenbosch University. This environment has allowed me to integrate clinical cardiology with academic mentorship, fostering the growth of medical students, trainee physicians and cardiology fellows. My strong academic foundation reflects my dedication to shaping future clinicians, and I plan to remain involved in curriculum development and hands-on clinical teaching throughout my career.
As a Cardiology Fellow at Tygerberg Hospital, I have developed strong clinical expertise in interventional cardiology and comprehensive transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography. My training has also fostered a keen interest in device therapy with hands-on experience in cardiac synchronization therapy and left bundle branch area pacing. Driven by a strong clinical interest in heart failure, I am particularly committed to advancing my career in advanced heart failure management through innovative therapies and evidence-based care.
